Call for Volunteers

Call for Volunteers

Our meeting is organized by an incredible team of volunteers, and we’d love to have you join our team.  Make new friends and help TWS-WS at the same time!

  • Session Chairs:  We are seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering to serve as the chairperson for the technical sessions. The session chair will coordinate with presenters and moderate the technical session at the conference. Session Chairs will be assigned in early December after the Call for Papers has closed and the papers have been sorted into session topics.  If you are interested in serving as a session chair in Redding, please contact President-Elect and Meeting Chairperson:  Kelly Holland, presidentelect@tws-west.org
  • Student and Early Career Professionals  Volunteers are needed to staff the annual meeting registration table and/or help with audio visual during all presentations.    A limited number of student and/or early career professional volunteers are eligible for discounted or free student registration to the meeting.  For more information, visit our volunteer inquiry page:  https://redding2020.tws-west.org/volunteer-inquiry/
  • Professionals Needed to Judge Student Posters or Oral Presentations Volunteers Needed to Judge Student Presentations and Posters: Well-rounded communication skills are critical for wildlife biologists in report writing, preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, or for oral presentation. The TWS-WS student award competition provides an opportunity for seasoned wildlifers to judge, encourage, and offer constructive criticism to future members of our profession. If you are interested in judging the student presentations and/or posters at the annual meeting, please contact Brian Barton at bbr258@yahoo.com . It doesn’t take much of your time, and once the papers have been sorted into sessions and time slots you may sign up directly in a Google Spreadsheet for the talks/posters you’d like to judge, and it’s fun!
  • Planning Committee Thank you to our 2020 Annual Meeting Planning Committee Team.  We are recruiting for additional team volunteers.  Please email candace.renger@gmail.com for more information on open positions.
